The Stanton Buffaloes lost against the Merkel Badgers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Stanton took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Merkel. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stanton in their matchups with Merkel: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Stanton still got an impressive performance from Nic Haas, who scored 33 points. Haas scored a full 66% of Stanton's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Stanton has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 3-7 record. As for Merkel, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Stanton will be playing at home against Pecos at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pecos comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Merkel's road trip will continue as they head out to face Reagan County at 1:00 p.m. on December 7th. Reagan County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 362 points over their last five matches.
