Even though the Mountain View Bruins scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, the Snow Canyon Warriors still came out on top. Snow Canyon took their match against Mountain View 74-64. The win made it back-to-back wins for Snow Canyon.
Owen Mackay had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 38 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Snow Canyon's points. Carter Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Several Bruins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Conner Fairbanks, who scored 22 points. The contest was Fairbanks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Snow Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mountain View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Snow Canyon will take on Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Snow Canyon likes a good challenge. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
