Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mountain View Thunder, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a hard 27-12 fall against Kennewick on Saturday. Mountain View's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Akili Kamau threw for 30 yards on a of three attempts. Aiden Nicholson was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Porter Drake rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Kennewick, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kennewick will take on Eastside Catholic at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Eastside Catholic is ranked 16th, while Kennewick is ranked 11th).
