Basketball Recap: Tri Skates Past Cowan with Ease

Tri won the last time they faced Cowan and things went their way on Friday too. The Tri Titans blew past the Cowan Blackhawks, posting a 53-7 win. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 31 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenley Cornelius, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points along with eight boards and four steals. That's the most boards Cornelius has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Chew, who posted nine points in addition to eight assists and eight steals.

Tri was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cowan only posted three assists.

Tri's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.3 points. As for Cowan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Tri wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-33 win against Union City on the 21st. As for Cowan, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
