Harriman has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Greenback Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Harriman, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Midway. While losing is never fun, Harriman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Midway is ranked 157th).
Harriman's defeat came about despite a quality game from Aaralyn Humphrey, who scored two points. Lexi Rose was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Greenback's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell to Harriman 43-38. Greenback has not had much luck with Harriman recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Harriman has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Greenback, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.
Harriman didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Greenback when the teams last played on Monday, but they still walked away with a 43-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harriman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
