Given Faith Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while CHASE is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amy Ahrens went supernova for Faith Baptist, dropping a triple-double on 18 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ahrens has scored at least 25% of Faith Baptist's points. Ellie Bowen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Faith Baptist's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for CHASE, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Baptist will square off against Bloomfield Christian School at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. CHASE will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on FAITH HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. FAITH HomeSchool comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
