The Milan Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-64 to Higbee.
Milan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marian Dabney, who scored 23 points along with five assists and two blocks. Dabney hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Pauley, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Milan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Higbee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milan will take on Linn County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Milan is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Linn County in Missouri (Milan is ranked 201st, while Linn County is ranked 485th). As for Higbee, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Braymer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Higbee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Braymer likes a good challenge.
