Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Schurr Spartans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 21-10 to Westminster on Friday. Schurr's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Ezekiel Cedillo was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown. Jason Mejia also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Schurr's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Westminster, their win was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Schurr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westminster will be playing in front of their home fans against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
