The Riverside Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of Chester County by a score of 53-50. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Chester County is ranked 75th).
James Harralston and Jack Cupples certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Harralston scored 14 points along with four steals, while Cupples scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Eason, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Riverside's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Chester County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Chester County will be home for the holidays to greet Crockett County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crockett County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
