The Broomfield Eagles will take on the Centaurus Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Broomfield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Broomfield's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Holy Family's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Eagles walked away with a 12-7 win over the Tigers.
JR Ramsey was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Fleischman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
Broomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centaurus). They were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over Skyline on Thursday. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Liam Sweeney was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Centaurus is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise. Sweeney was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Centaurus got a massive performance out of Logan Ukleja, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Ukleja has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Will Erdmann, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Broomfield's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Centaurus, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-9.
Broomfield got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Centaurus by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
