They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 52-24 victory over the Chargers. The victory was some much needed relief for Flanagan/Woodland as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Flanagan/Woodland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Palaschak, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Ella Derossett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Midland was not quite Seneca's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Irish. Midland's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Flanagan/Woodland's victory bumped their record up to 7-21. As for Midland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season.
Flanagan/Woodland was taken down by Midland 61-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Flanagan/Woodland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
