The Granville Golden Horde came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Fort Ann as Granville made off with a 71-45 victory. Granville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Liam Farrell, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of William Jennings, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Fort Ann's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javier Hernandez, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Kadynce Cutter was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two blocks.
Granville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Fort Ann, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granville will take on Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Ann, they will be playing at home against Hartford Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartford Central is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
