Basketball Recap: Hilliard Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Hilliard had won seven straight road games dating back to last season and Cj Hall did his part to make it eight on Saturday. The Hilliard Red Flashes enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over the Charlton County Indians thanks in part to Hall, who went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ta'Veon Dunbar, who went 9 of 22 on his way to 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Hilliard's points.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trevan Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards. Those 19 points gave Cobb a new career-high. Christian Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Hilliard is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Charlton County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilliard will head out to challenge Bolles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hilliard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games. As for Charlton County, they will take on Lanier County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
