The Licking Valley Panthers won the last time they faced the Newark Catholic Green Wave, and things went their way on Saturday too. Licking Valley simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Newark Catholic 62-31 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Licking Valley.
Licking Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aj Rapol, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rapol has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gunner Bowman, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Licking Valley pushed their record up to 2-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Newark Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Licking Valley will head out on the road to face off against Licking Heights at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newark Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Northridge at 7:15 p.m.
