The Bay Tornadoes and the Walton Braves will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bay struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Tigers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bay's rough 57-33 defeat to the Tigers might stick with them for a while. Bay has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Bay had strong showings from Aiyana Hunt, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Zoey Davis, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 63 points the game before, Walton were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Ponce De Leon at home and fell 55-25. While losing is never fun, Walton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Pirates are ranked 52nd).
Bay has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Walton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.
Everything came up roses for Bay against the Braves in their previous matchup back in February of 2021 as the squad secured a 57-24 win. Will Bay repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
