Vardaman has gone a perfect 7-0 against Columbus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Rams will welcome the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. Vardaman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Columbus' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Vardaman's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Winona. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kinlynn McGreger made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Moore, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Hubbard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Vardaman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Columbus Christian Academy, falling 13-5. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the rams since Tuesday.
Vardaman's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Vardaman got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Columbus by a conclusive 12-5 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
