Basketball Recap: Quartz Hill Skates Past Lancaster with Ease

Quartz Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-47 victory over the Lancaster Eagles. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Eagles are ranked 801st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeremiah Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty?Jahwuan Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 boards.

Quartz Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Lancaster still got an impressive performance from Keelan Benjamin, who posted 13 points. Alvaro Martinez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Quartz Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Lancaster, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Quartz Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-65 loss against Knight on the 27th. As for Lancaster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-49 defeat against Littlerock on the 27th.
