The North Sanpete Hawks's game on Wednesday was all tied up 39-39 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 75-65 to Manti. North Sanpete has struggled against Manti recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
North Sanpete lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dimick Huntington, who scored 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huntington has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ridge Hendry, who scored 17 points along with six assists and four steals.
North Sanpete struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Manti was led to victory by Jessen Barton and Reggie Frischknecht. Barton almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists, while Frischknecht dropped a double-double on 30 points and 16 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Barton posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Mason, who scored eight points along with five assists.
North Sanpete has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Manti, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Sanpete will take on Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Emery will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something North Sanpete surely won't give up without a fight. As for Manti, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Juab at 7:00 p.m. Juab is coming into the match with five straight losses on the road, meaning Manti will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
