The Washington County Golden Hawks can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hancock Central 75-22 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Washington County as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Washington County found their leader in underclassman Jade Kitchens, who scored 17 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Tamia Thomas was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Hancock Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Siauni Little, who scored seven points.
Washington County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-10. As for Hancock Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington County the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Putnam County at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Journey Waller and Kitchens. As for Hancock Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glascock County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
