The Peebles Indians waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mason County 57-29 on the road. Peebles has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Payton Johnson, who dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists. Johnson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Angel Gray was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Peebles' win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Mason County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
Peebles will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hillsboro is on a three-game streak of home wins, Peebles a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Mason County will take on Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
