The Fishers Tigers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down Avon 66-50. Given Fishers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Avon is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fishers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Dickman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Dickman has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Talia Harris, who scored 20 points along with seven assists.
Fishers is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Avon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fishers will square off against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to take on Bloomington South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
