Damonte Ranch came out on top in a nail-biter against Beckman and snuck past 58-56. Given Damonte Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Nevada, while Beckman is ranked 351st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Damonte Ranch to victory were Jeriah Macias and Jace Anderson. Macias scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Anderson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiro Basabas, who scored ten points.
Damonte Ranch's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Beckman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
