The Middle Creek Mustangs will be playing at home against the Sanderson Spartans at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
 Last Monday, Middle Creek suffered a  tough 15-3 loss at the hands of Panther Creek.
 Middle Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Leah Gore, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Keira Tankelewicz was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Sanderson was able to grind out a solid  win over Broughton on Tuesday, taking the game  5-2. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Sanderson.
  Lily Thorpe spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Sloane Thorpe was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Emily Porter, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with three  RBI.
 Middle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Sanderson, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matches,  which provided a massive bump to their 4-5-1 record  this season.
 Middle Creek took their  victory against Sanderson  when the teams last played  back in April of 2021 by a conclusive  10-3. Does  Middle Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sanderson turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
