Basketball Recap: Loris Skates Past Aynor with Ease

Loris won the last time they faced Aynor and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Loris Lions breezed by the Aynor Blue Jackets to the tune of 51-19. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Loris to victory were Dazena Capers and Mari'Asia Moody. Capers went 9 for 14 en route to 21 points, while Moody almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Moody also racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Janyshia Brown, who posted four points and six boards.

Loris was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aynor only posted three assists.

Several Blue Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alivia Hess, who had four points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisha Huffman, who put up three points and seven rebounds.

Loris' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Aynor, their record is now 10-10.

Loris has already played their next contest (against Waccamaw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Aynor will venture away from home to challenge Dillon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dillon will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Aynor surely won't give up without a fight.
