The Los Alamos Hilltoppers lost against the Robertson Cardinals back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Los Alamos took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Robertson. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Los Alamos in their matchups with Robertson: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Los Alamos still got an impressive performance from GG Romero, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Romero hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohynn Young, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robertson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Quintana, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Quintana hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Lovely Allemand, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Los Alamos' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Robertson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Los Alamos will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe Indian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Santa Fe Indian is ranked 42nd, while Los Alamos is ranked 43rd). Robertson on the road again on Friday and play against Tucumcari at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Tucumcari will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
