The Edgewood Cougars were the 63-47 winner over the Harrison Wildcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Edgewood fell 58-47 to Harrison on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Edgewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Harrison is ranked 121st).
Despite the loss, Edgewood still got an impressive performance from Maddy Judd, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Buck, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Harrison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alli Robertson led the charge by scoring 15 points. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 17 games she's played. Abby Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Edgewood now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Harrison, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.
Edgewood will head out on the road to square off against Eaton at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 15 consecutive losses for Eaton and three for Edgewood. Harrison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
