On Sunday, The Tolman Tigers faced the Coventry Oakers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Tolman put the hurt on Coventry with a sharp 28-8 victory. Winning may never get old, but Tolman sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Tolman can attribute much of their success to Noah Taylor, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Joseph Dacruz did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 87 receiving yards.
Tolman now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Coventry, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tolman will square off against Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnston is on a four-game streak of home wins, Tolman a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Coventry will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against West Warwick at 6:30 p.m. on November 3rd. The last four games West Warwick has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
