That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Casen Harl and Corte Wallace stepped up to the plate in a big way. Harl went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Wallace went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Adrian Belch - Watson was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Snider hadn't done well against Homestead recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Panthers came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-5.
Landen Fry and Trevor Jarvis did most of the damage at the plate: Fry got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Jarvis got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Jarvis has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brandon Logan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Fort Wayne South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Wayne South Side has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Snider struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fort Wayne South Side suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Fort Wayne Snider when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Archers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
