After both having extra time off, the Bronson Eagles and the Ocala Christian Crusaders will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. While Bronson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 victory over Dixie County on December 10th.

Bronson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justice Phillips out in front who posted 22 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Phillips' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Talon Harris, who went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points and six assists.
Bronson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Ocala Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. They had to suffer through a 74-34 loss at the hands of Meadowbrook Academy. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while the Mustangs are ranked 276th).
Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Bronson, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Bronson was able to grind out a solid win over Ocala Christian when the teams last played back in January, winning 66-56. Does Bronson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ocala Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
