The NSU University Sharks won the last time they faced the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks, and things went their way on Friday too. NSU University walked away with a 59-51 victory over Archbishop McCarthy.
Tatum Billie was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of NSU University's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Exum, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
NSU University's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-8.
NSU University will head out on the road to face off against Pembroke Pines Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pembroke Pines Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Key West at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Key West is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
