Collins Ames made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Miami Country Day let Maggie Houser and Sharleah Lapaix run wild. Houser scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Lapaix scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sophie Krelstein, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Miami Country Day pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ransom Everglades, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
