Baseball Recap: Handley Takes a Loss

Handley lost against Sherando back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Judges fell 8-4 to the Warriors.

Charlie Allen and Rutledge Patterson did some serious damage despite the final result: Allen got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Patterson went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Patterson has become a key player for Handley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

Handley's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Sherando, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Handley will face off against rival Skyline at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sherando is set to take on their familiar foe Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
