BILLINGS, Mont. -
Billings Central Catholic (Billings, Mont.) snapped Beaverhead County (Dillon, Mont.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 37-7 victory on Saturday.
The Rams were up 21-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Connor Cerkovnik in the first quarter.
Billings Central Catholic expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. BCC scored two times in the third, including once on a
Austin Barthel touchdown run.
Austin Carver played well for the Beavers. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to eight on the year.
Jacob Stanton played well for the Billings school in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Beaverhead County's lone touchdown came on a 25-yard pass from Ben Folsom to Carver in the third quarter.
BC came in surrendering 10.1 points per game this season. The Dillon school struggled against the Rams, which came in averaging 47.8 points per game. Billings Central Catholic came into the game allowing 5.3 points per game. The Beavers' seven points were well below their season average of 46.3 per game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Beaverhead County took, 44-10.
The loss comes after Beaverhead County defeated Polson 28-7 last week.
