Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newark Charter School). They put the hurt on the MOT Charter Mustangs with a sharp 19-2 victory on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Patrick Chase was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shane Connor was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Newark Charter School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .638. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MOT Charter only posted an OBP of .333.

Newark Charter School's record now sits at 6-3. As for MOT Charter, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Newark Charter School will take on St. Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for MOT Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on ASPIRA Charter at 3:45 p.m. on the 28th.
