Caney Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yeiry Zamudio, who scored eight points. That was a full 36.4% of Caney Creek's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Emily Garcia was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie Westwood, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Caney Creek's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-20. As for College Park, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-11.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Willis the next time they take the court. College Park will head out to face Willis at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Caney Creek will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
