The Valley Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), Valley Christian still had to take the loss.
Fedrick Pernell was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with three steals for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. Zemaury Erfe was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Valley Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-12.
Valley Christian will head out on the road to challenge Serra at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 22 games -- so hopefully Serra likes a good challenge. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, they will be playing at home against Saint Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is on a three-game streak of home losses, Saint Francis a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
