Softball Recap: Rensselaer Central Has No Trouble Against Twin Lakes

Rensselaer Central hadn't done well against Twin Lakes recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bombers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 16-8 victory. Considering the Bombers have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kami Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rensselaer Central got a massive performance out of Brynn Hannon, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Rylie Moore, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Rensselaer Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Twin Lakes, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rensselaer Central will venture away from home to challenge Tri-County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bombers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Twin Lakes, they are taking a road trip to square off against Benton Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bison have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
