It was a good run, but the Lamar Thunder unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 68-50 bruising from The Vanguard School. Lamar has not had much luck with The Vanguard School recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Lamar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xzavier DeLarosa, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeLarosa has scored all season. Alex Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for The Vanguard School, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.
Lamar will take on La Junta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Junta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Lamar is ranked 73rd). As for The Vanguard School, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
