If the Flat Rock Rams were feeling good off their 60-37 takedown of the Huron Chiefs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Flat Rock fell 45-33 to Grosse Ile on Thursday. Flat Rock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grosse Ile apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Flat Rock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lily Klein, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Mckenna Williams who scored eight points along with two steals. Klein hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Flat Rock struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Flat Rock's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Grosse Ile, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flat Rock will take on Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grosse Ile won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trenton at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Trenton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
