The Boiling Springs Bubblers will be home for the holidays to greet the James Buchanan Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Boiling Springs has six straight wins, James Buchanan has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Boiling Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Middletown, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Boiling Springs has scored all season.
Boiling Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joe Wonders led the charge by scoring 13 points. Wonders continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Ascione, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, James Buchanan suffered a tough 72-47 defeat at the hands of Greencastle-Antrim on Friday. While losing is never fun, James Buchanan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Greencastle-Antrim is ranked 217th).
Boiling Springs' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for James Buchanan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
