Connor and James Wood were among the main playmakers for Lab University Prep Regional as the former went 17 of 24 on his way to 38 points and the latter went 10 for 15 en route to 25 points and five rebounds. Wood's afternoon made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Imade, who posted 12 points.
Lab University Prep Regional was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Greater Cabarrus S's strategy against NC H on Friday. Everything went Greater Cabarrus S's way against NC H as Greater Cabarrus S made off with a 64-44 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Stallions who have now won three matches in a row.
Lab University Prep Regional better focus on containing Cody Pearson and Christian Sturdivant as the pair were huge in Greater Cabarrus S's win. Pearson put up 14 points, while Sturdivant posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Pearson a new career-high in points. Colt Crump was another key player, putting up ten points.
Greater Cabarrus S is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Lab University Prep Regional, their record is now 9-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Lab University Prep Regional and Greater Cabarrus S are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lab University Prep Regional hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 78.6 points per game. However, it's not like Greater Cabarrus S struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Lab University Prep Regional came up short against Greater Cabarrus S in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-45. Can Lab University Prep Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
