The Wells Leopards will head out on the road to face off against the West Wendover Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Wells on the road against GV Christian as the squad secured a 38-7 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wells.
Lillian Harney continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Wells' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe DelRio, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
Meanwhile, West Wendover escaped with a win on Tuesday against Rowland Hall by the margin of a single free throw, 31-30.
Wells' victory bumped their season record to 3-1 while GV Christian's defeat dropped theirs to 0-4.
Wells didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against West Wendover in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 29-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wells since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
