Millard West got a great performance from  Ethan Cole as he  struck out seven batters over  5.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  Cole a new career-high.
 At the plate,  Tyson Meier was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sam Kidd, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
The  victory was  the third in a row for Millard West, bringing their record up to 10-8. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Papillion-LaVista, their loss  ended  an  eight-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 12-6.
 Millard West didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  an  8-1  defeat against Papillion-LaVista South on the 19th. As for Papillion-LaVista, they will challenge Lincoln East on Monday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 9.6  runs per game this season.
