Loudoun County has gone a perfect 5-0 against Park View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Captains will challenge the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Loudoun County has eight straight victories, Park View has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Loudoun County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Potomac Falls as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Captains have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sharon Manni, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Loudoun County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Park View came up short against Osbourn on Thursday, falling 20-2.
Park View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kim Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Juliana Johnson was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Loudoun County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Park View, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything went Loudoun County's way against Park View when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Loudoun County made off with a 23-0 victory. Will the Captains repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
