Volleyball Recap: Southeast Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It was a classic East v. West duel when Southeast took on West on Tuesday. The Golden Buffalo walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pioneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Southeast easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-6.

Eva Vilanueva paced Southeast's offense, picking up six kills. Vilanueva got some help from Leah Nguyen and her 11 assists. Nguyen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Southeast's win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20-3 record this season.

Southeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against South on the 9th. As for West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Northwest on the 9th.
