Wakefield is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Wake Forest is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wakefield Wolverines will welcome the Wake Forest Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wakefield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Rolesville on Tuesday as Wakefield made off with a 16-1 win. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Aniela Piscorik looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maddy Lampman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Uhrig, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Wakefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Northern Durham a 9-0 shutout.
Jil Livengood made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Livengood was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nova Pate, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Kaylee Bowers was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Wake Forest's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Wakefield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Wake Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.3 hits.
