Even though the Kimball Knights scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the St. Mark's Lions still came out on top. St. Mark's walked away with a 64-55 victory over Kimball. Given St. Mark's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Kimball is ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Jaylon Dean-vines, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Brandon, who scored 13 points.
St. Mark's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Kimball, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
St. Mark's will be playing at home against Anna at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Kimball won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crowley at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Crowley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Kimball likes a good challenge.
