Volleyball Recap: Sydney Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bandera over Comfort

Bandera suffered their biggest defeat since October 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Comfort Bobcats/Deer, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats/Deer this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Thursday.

While Bandera was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-18.

Bandera's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Moore, who had eight kills and three blocks. Moore is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Comfort's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anna Munoz, who had 15 digs and eight aces. With that strong performance, Munoz is now averaging an impressive 2.6 aces per game. Corrine Brown was another key player, getting 25 assists and 11 digs.

Bandera's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Comfort, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Bandera has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Stevens on the 21st. As for Comfort, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Goliad on the 21st.
