The Palmetto Ridge Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Gulf Coast Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Palmetto Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Lely two weeks ago as Palmetto Ridge made off with a 16-4 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 11 runs or more this season.
Tessa Delashmet made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Rebecca Razzano and Karsyn Walters did most of the damage at the plate: Razzano scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Walters went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Razzano a new career-high. Jenahya Soto was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Palmetto Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Gulf Coast was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Bishop Verot. The Sharks' loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.
Gulf Coast saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Stalling, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Another was Nelinka Lambcke, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Palmetto Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Gulf Coast fell to 6-1.
Gulf Coast's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Palmetto Ridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Gulf Coast, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Palmetto Ridge's sizable advantage in that area, Gulf Coast will need to find a way to close that gap.
