Amanda Cintron made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Alondra Lozada and Britney Freitez did most of the damage at the plate: Lozada went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Freitez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs Freitez has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Illiana Bustamante, who scored three runs.
Cypress Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tohopekaliga got the win against Poinciana on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like Cypress Creek, Tohopekaliga also got a great game from a two-way player: Leanne Crew. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Crew was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Tohopekaliga let Jessalyn Morales and Anaya Josue run wild. Morales got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Josue got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Dyliannis Nieves was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cypress Creek's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Tohopekaliga, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Tohopekaliga's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Cypress Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Tohopekaliga, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Cypress Creek keep running through batters, or will Tohopekaliga buck the trend?
Cypress Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Tohopekaliga in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 12-10. Does Cypress Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tohopekaliga turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
